I just wanted to recognize that jonathan turned 17 yesterday.Tomorrow,Monday is Justins' birthday. Both of these young me have made us proud in so many ways.Justin has set a wonderful example for Jonathan. As much as Val and I love our Dad-we have often been shocked by the ways these 2 are taking on many of our Dads' preferences, mannerisms.
We were at the beach foe a few days.Kim and I celebrated out 19th anniversary. We went to a restaurant in Cannon Beach called "JP's" It is out of this world.A bit on the spendy side.well woth it for a special occasion. The owner and chef is John Pappas. They are Mormon. It is fun to watch him cook.Give it a try.
We hope to you all at Wills baptism on saturday! @ 3pm

Grateful for an achieving family
Having attended Amber's graduation on SAturday, I'm thinking how gratefful I am for an "achieving " family. Amber finished High School with a high GPA and a respectable list of activities. She has remained very much her own person in the process and has achievable big plans for the future.
Spring graduations and seeing the accomplishments of young people puts me in awe of all they can do.
Do not waste your time on earth; work hard, study hard, play hard at times, get to know God, make friends, be kind (even to jerks), travel, take a few reasoned chances, love deeply, and endure so that when you die you will have no regrets about what you did not do.
As a family we are "achievers". Among the Wilkins, Starks, Pearsons, Rysers, and Blaisdells we have no slackers, no delinquents, and no drop outs. We have university grads, high GPAs, high SAT's (Jonathan and Amber), missionaries (most recent; Comrade Justinksi with others coming up) , military (Courtney), personal strength ( Val & Mel), musicians, an artist (Brooke), two French speakers, strong mothers and integrity. The future is bright for us as long as we maintain and pass on our values.
